One of the indications for the management of bariatric surgery is a BMI ≥ 40
or a BMI ≥ 35 with at least one associated disease that may be improved
after surgery.
A normal BMI is between 18.5 and 25.
Calculation of BMI: m (kg) / h² (meter)
= body mass index
= weight (in kilograms)
= size (in meters)
